Today, (3/12), at 10.00 WITA located in Westin Hotel – Nusa Dua Bali, the Conference on Carbon Trading, officially known as the 13th Conference of Party (COP) has begun.

Indication, that this COP 13 Conference is about Carbon Trading, is visible from COP 13 leaders’ welcoming speech.  “Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) is developing countries’ way to mitigate Greenhouse Gas (GHG),” said Rahmat Witoelar, COP 13 President.

Similar expression also came from Yvo de Boer, UNFCCC Executive Secretary in his welcoming speech in the Opening of COP 13. “Carbon market is a strong foundation to conduct GHG mitigation,” he stated.

By trading carbon, are we going to be able to save sustaining livelihood on earth?
